Hotel Vijaya - Amsterdam

the location is quite convenient for touring the center of Amsterdam and the red light area.

this hotel is great for people how don't want to spend a lot of money in a hotel and still want to stay in the city center, and not far away of the principals atractions. I don't recomend it for people how are not a fan of stairs and want luxuary, so be prepared for claiming stairs or make sure that you're staying in the 1str floor. I liked it, mainly because its near central station (10 minutes max) and because of the variety of restaurants near by. The bedroom was ok, and the breakfast was good, but it was nothing like luxuary hotel.

decent variety of buffet breakfast,plenty of free information available and dont be afraid to ask staff about anything.cheapest bar next door also.for location cant be beat

Ideal location for a good booze up in the Red Light District with the lads. Dorm rooms are ideal to stumble back into totally wasted after a lads night out.

Rooms are simply Dorms. I booked a room which had steel framed Bunk beds and two metal single beds. No carpets, no frills. Towels were provided and a small selection of toiletries

Helpful staff worked hard to compensate the bad condition of the facilities.

Not advertised that the shower was not en-suite.

These two older buildings offer two perspectives! Maybe adjacent to earlier days on a different level of comfort! Nite life is crisp;and lively, as is the city. Nice evening shots of the canal boats!

The room was very nice and clean with canal view,the location of the hotel was the best,five minutes from central station,at the heart of Amsterdam,red light district.

The room was really small,so not so comfortable,if it was bigger it would be the best!!!

high stairs to the room, window difficult to open, ugly view from the window, broken towels (with the holes), not too much space in the bathroom, housekeeping man was seen when he put clean guests towels on the stairs (on the carpet)

The location is smack in the middle of the red light district which was great for us but not ideal for families

Rooms are very basic and cramped especially with 3 of us in the room. We were also on the top floor which has a very steep set of stairs to get to it. Be warned try and get a room on the lower floors.

Reasonably cheap, the location was excellent, the bed comfy, and the staff friendly.

Room suffered from noise (doors banging etc.) as guests checked out, so no real lie-in in the mornings.

Very central location. Very close to train station. Reasonable price. Was a cheap hotel and expectations were not high so just as expected. Room was cleaned daily and shower was warm which was positive. If you are looking for a hotel which is cheap with good location and you are not going to be spending much time there then it should suit.

Breakfast was limited. Bread boiled eggs ham and cheese daily but good enough. Room poorly equipped. No hairdryer. No tea or coffee making facilities. Very steep flight of stairs. No reception on tv and not able to watch any. Not enough seats at breakfast table and had to wait. Walls in room had damp on the walls. Seemed more like a youth hostel than hotel.

The location and the view. Also the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good too.

The stairs to the room were very narrow and the rooms are rather small.

Did exactly what it said on the tin, a charming little hotel right slap bang in the middle of all the action in Amsterdam. Bed was comfy, room was warm, shower was hot and view was wicked. What more can I say?

No lift, rooms tooooo small. Bathroom with shower can barly fit !! tv not working. No ac with old fan.
